Day 1: Delhi – International arrival

On arrival at Delhi International Airport, proceed for Immigration and Customs Clearances. After clearing Customs, please collect your baggage and proceed towards arrival lounge and look for SKY VACATIONS representative, who will be holding the placard with your name on it. You will be met, assisted and thereafter transferred to your hotel by AC car. Arrive and check-in at the hotel and left undisturbed to relax and retire for the day.

Sprawling on the banks of the River Yamuna, Delhi, the capital of India typifies the soul of the country. The city is now a powerful business and political hub with a population of close to 15 million people and the legacy of its past survives in the many monuments spread across the metropolis.

Day 2: Delhi / Paro [By flight # KB 205: 11:45 AM / 2:30 PM - Druk Air operates on Mon/Wed/Fri] / Thimphu [Approx 1 hr drive]

Morning after breakfast, you will be met by SKY VACATIONS representative in the hotel lobby at around 8 O’clock and will assist you with transfer to Airport to board your flight # KB 205 to Paro. On arrival, proceed for Immigration and Customs Clearances. After clearing Customs, please collect your baggage and proceed towards arrival lounge and look for SKY VACATIONS representative, who will be holding the placard with your name on it. You will be met, assisted and thereafter transferred to your hotel by AC car in Thimphu, merely an hour drive from the Airport.  Arrive and check-in at the hotel and left undisturbed to relax and retire for the day.

On a clear day the panoramic views of the Himalaya are sensational, including Everest, but particularly exciting is the approach through the Bhutanese foothills and the landing, including a few steep turns to land at the tiny airstrip of Paro.  Overnight stay at Thimphu B D

Day 3: Thimphu

Morning after breakfast, you will be met by our Tour Guide in the hotel lobby and later, proceed for full day tour of Bhutan’s capital visiting the massive 700 years old fortress Tashicho Dzong that houses the royal and main government offices. It is the headquarters for central monastic body of Bhutan and also the venue for Thimphu Festival in the fall season. Memorial Chorten is white and tall landmark of Thimphu. It serves as an important place of worship for Thimphu residents. Zilukha Nunnery housed in Drubthob monastery is the home for about 70 nuns. Takin Sanctuary is where the national animal of Bhutan Takin [Budorcas taxicolor] can be seen.

Afternoon we will drive towards northern end of the valley for about 20 minutes for an exciting walk to Cheri Gompa [if time permits]. Enjoy this pleasant rural walk, gently up a valley through paddy fields and woodland via a Tibetan village, finally reaching Cheri monastery. It is usually possible to enter Cheri courtyard, but may not be allowed to visit the shrines inside. After visit, descend to the bottom of the hill, where our car driver pick you up and take you back to hotel in Thimphu. B L D

Day 4: Thimphu / Punakha [Approx 3 hr drive]

Morning after breakfast, depart for Punakha, an old winter capital of Bhutan. En-route stop at Dochu La Pass [10,000 Ft / 3,048 Mts] to view the eastern Himalayas, including Bhutan’s highest mountain, Gangkar Punsum [24,770 Ft / 7,550 Mts.], the road then drops down through varied ever changing forest, finally emerging into the highly cultivated Punakha valley. Afternoon visit Punakha Dzong, known as ‘Palace of Great Happiness’ and later enjoy a short hike to the Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of Divine Madman. Overnight stay in a hotel at Punakha - B L D

Day 5: Punakha / Paro [Approx 4 hr drive]

After breakfast, we drive to Paro via Dochula pass [3080 Mts.] if weather permitting enjoy the Bhutan Himalayas view. Continue driving to Paro for another one hour. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Afternoon proceed for city tour visiting Kichu Lhakhang one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Dungtshe Lhakhang is another old temple; you may not be permitted inside but can walk around this three-storey Chorten-type building. Rinpung Dzong is regarded as one of the finest Bhutanese architecture with intricate wood work. Overnight stay in a hotel at Paro – B L D

Day 6: Paro – Tiger’s Nest Excursion

This morning, get ready for a full day tour with hike to the Tiger’s Nest, the most highlighted Buddhist monastery in Bhutan. It is also known as Taktshang Pelphung monastery and one of the most venerated and famous of Bhutan’s monasteries. It is located on the face of a sheer 900 Mts. cliff above the floor of Paro Valley. It is an impressive sight but accessible only by walk [or by mules / pony, available at an extra charge]. Once you reach the monastery, visit several shrines or temples.  After lunch, trek back to the road-head where you started in the morning. Later car driver will pick you up and take back to the hotel. Overnight stay in a hotel at Paro. B L D

Day 7: Paro / Delhi [By flight # KB 204: 09:00 AM / 11:00 AM - Druk Air operates on Mon/Wed/Fri]

After early breakfast at the hotel, you will be met by SKY VACATIONS representative in the hotel lobby at 6 AM and assist you with transfer to airport for your flight to Delhi. On arrival, proceed for Immigration and Customs Clearances. After clearing Customs, please collect your baggage and proceed towards arrival lounge and look for SKY VACATIONS representative, who will be holding the placard with your name on it. You will be met, assisted and thereafter proceed for half a day city tour of New Delhi, visiting the wide-tree-lined boulevards of New Delhi, visiting some striking monuments of the city, like the Qutab Minar, 239 feet sandstone tower, an Indo-Islamic architectural wonder of ancient India and Emperor Humayun’s Tomb, built in 1570 and of particular cultural significance as it was the first garden-tomb built by the Mughals in India. We also drive through the area where the Houses of Parliament, the Prime Ministers Offices, the Presidential Palace and India Gate, a large arch built to commemorate the Indian soldiers who lost their lives in World War-I. Later SKY VACATIONS representative will assist you with transfer to International Airport to board your flight for onward destination. B

  • Any personal expenses like telephone calls, laundry, shopping, table drinks, fee for the cameras / video cameras at the monuments etc.
  • Any additional expenses caused by or liability for disturbance in the trip due to circumstances beyond our control such as airline & railway delays, roadblocks, vehicle malfunctions (mechanical breakdown) and other conditions like sickness, natural disasters, wars, etc.
  • Liability for or insurance against injury, loss of life, accidents, damage or loss of goods.
  • Any alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.

  • (1) The letter B at the end of each paragraph in the detailed program stands for “breakfast”, L for “lunch” and D for “dinner”.
  • (2) Reporting time at all International Airports is 3 and ½ hours prior to schedule departure.
  • (3) Reporting time at Indian Airports is 1 and ½ hours prior to schedule departure for each scheduled flight (within India), as per program. Must carry the Government issued Photo ID.
  • (4) Check in baggage on flights within India and to / from Paro (Bhutan) is weight concept. Free check in baggage allowance is 20 Kilograms per person.
