Day 1,Kathmandu

Upon arrival at the International airport, you will meet up with our representative and be transferred to your hotel. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and the largest urban agglomerate in the country. The city stands at an elevation of approximately 4,600 feet in the bowl-shaped Kathmandu Valley of central Nepal. It is surrounded by four major mountains: Shivapuri, Phulchoki, Nagarjun, and Chandragiri. Enjoy your day relaxing after a long flight or start exploring the bustling metropolis nestled in the Himalayan foothills. Spend the night at your hotel.

Day 2,Kathmandu

After breakfast in your hotel you’ll get to see Kathmandu City, truly one of the most picturesque capitals in the world, featuring over 2,000 temples and shrines. During your tour you’ll be able to see: Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, and Telaju Temple. You’ll also see Swayambhunath, set high on a hill overlooking the valley, where you can explore the stone steps, polished by the bare feet of devotees, leading to the 2,500 stupa, the highest point in Kathmandu. Later, visit Patan, the oldest of the three cities in the ancient Kathmandu Valley. Overnight at hotel. (B)

Day 3,Kathmandu—Chitwan

Have breakfast at the hotel before driving from Kathmandu to Chitwan. Enjoy lunch upon arrival. Royal Chitwan National Park is considered one of the richest wildlife areas in Asia. Boasting the last and largest remaining areas of tall grassland habitat, this park has been renowned for centuries as one of the best areas for wildlife viewing on the continent. Enjoy a visit to Tharu Village and then rest up for an exciting adventure ahead. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 4,Chitwan

Have breakfast at the resort before heading out for a full day of jungle activities. Start out by canoeing past crocodiles and birds on the Rapti River (Subject to water levels). After a break for lunch, experience a jungle safari on the back of anelephant and see the surrounding wildlife through the eyes of these gentle giants as they take you across land and water. End your day with a stunning cultural show that will give you a taste of this rich, ancient culture. Spend the night in the hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 5,Chitwan—Pokhara

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before driving from Chitwan to Pokhara. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The enchanting city has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks. Tourism focuses on the districts of Damside and Lakeside (or Pardi and Baidam, in Nepali, respectively). The rest of day is free to spend how you choose, whether it be viewing the spectacular scenery, diving into adventure activities, or indulging in an abundance of food choices. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 6,Pokhara

After breakfast head out on an early morning excursion trip to Sarangkot to view the changing colors of the Himalayas at the time of sunrise (Subject to weather conditions). Enjoy the great views of the Pokhara Valley and the magnificent mountains in Sarangkot. Then embark on a sightseeing tour of the International Mountain Museum. This museum offers a view of the three 8000+ meter peaks of the area. The museum also focuses on mountaineering, featuring exhibits on different mountain cultures and their ways of life, world mountain systems, ecology, and an exhibition of the world mountaineering history. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 7,Pokhara—Kathmandu

Start off with breakfast at the hotel before driving to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Delve into the intoxicating sights, sounds, and smells that make this city unlike any other. Ride on a rickshaw, marvel at temples, or spend some time relaxing and preparing for the adventures ahead. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 8,Kathmandu—Nagarkot

Start the morning by embarking on a Bhaktapur City sightseeing tour. Bhaktapur is a world full of vibrant cultures, colorful festivals, and generations-old craftsmanship, just 13 km from Khatmandu. Here you can see: The Palace of 55 Windows, the National Art Gallery, the Golden Gate, and various temples. Later, proceed to Nagarkot and upon arrival check in to the hotel. Nagarkot is one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur and is renowned for its spectacular views of the Himalayas. A special viewing of the sunset from Nagarkot is planned (subject to weather). Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 9,Nagarkot

After breakfast start the day with a hike around Nagarkot, including watching a wonderful sunrise in a region known for its views. Then we will begin exploring the vista of villages and mountains. Hike toward Dhadgaun, Gairigaun; reach Baluwapati and wind back to the hotel for a retreat at the cheese factory. During this hike, we will arrange a visit to the local Tamang People & Tea. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 10,Nagarkot—Kathmandu

Drive back to Kathmandu. We will stop at Changunarayan, which features a temple considered one of the greatest artistic legacies of the Lichhavian era. Perched on a narrow ridge, Changu is said to be the oldest pagoda style temple in the valley, dating back to the early 3rd century AD. The statues and temple itself are works of art that will enchant you for hours. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 11,Kathmandu

After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Bouddhanath is one of Nepal’s most distinctive monuments and one of the most important and largest Buddhist sites in the country. Believed to be constructed in the 5th century, this stupa supposedly contains the remains of the past Buddha Kasyapa. Pashupatinath is Nepal’s most sacred Hindu shrine and one of the subcontinent’s great Shiva sites. It expresses the very essence of Hinduism as pilgrims, priests, devotes, temples, ashrams, images, inscriptions, and cremation Ghats intermingle with the rituals of daily life. The rest of the day is yours to spend at your leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 12,Kathmandu

You will start out your day by heading out on a Dakshinkali and Kirtipur sightseeing tour. The shrine of Dakshinkali is the most spectacular of all the Kali temples and known for its twice weekly sacrifices on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A favorite Hindu pilgrimage destination, it sits at the confluence of two sacred streams in the forest. Kirtipur is the center of Newar culture and consists of many temples, gumbas (Buddhist monastery), and churches. Due to the presence of Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur is also a popular area for out-of-town students and professors. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 13,Kathmandu

Enjoy breakfast then head out on a sightseeing tour of Budhanilkantha. The Budhanilkantha Temple is located at the base of Shivapuri Hill and is known as a mystical Budhanilkantha temple or Narayanthan temple. It is a deity of Lord Vishnu. Slightly off the beaten path, this temple offers a unique feeling of peace among the thousands of temples in the area. Enjoy the butter lamps, incense, and tika powder that characterizes this sacred place. Then enjoy an afternoon visit to Oshan, Indra Chok, and the Thamel Market for shopping. Overnight at the hotel. Day 14,Kathmandu—Detroit

Have breakfast in the hotel before transferring to the International airport and connecting to your flight home. (B)
