The history of Dalmatia is one of the richest in Europe, and we explore it at great length as we visit some of the oldest sites in the country like the Roman-era city of Split and Orlando’s Column built in 1418.

Day 1,Dubrovnik, Croatia

Welcome to this beautiful town situated on the scenic Adriatic Sea. At the airport, you will be met by a Sky Vacations representative and transferred to your hotel. Afterwards, spend the day exploring the city at your leisure or rest up before dinner. In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner where you will meet your fellow travelers and Tour Director. (B, D)

Day 2,Dubrovnik, Croatia

Start the day off with an Old Dubrovnik walking tour of where we visit:
  • Rector's Palace – Dating to the 14th century, this structure was part of the 350-year-old Republic of Ragusa that was conquered by Napoleon.
  • The Bell Tower Clock
  • Orlando's Column – Monument from 1418 dedicated to a knight who helped defeat invaders.
  • Sponza Palace
  • The Dominican and Franciscan Monasteries and Pharmacy - One of the oldest in the world.
You’re then free to tour Dubrovnik at your leisure. Head to the beach and enjoy the serene blue waters, shop, or simply relax at cafe. (B)

Day 3,Dubrovnik to Split

Journey northward along the gorgeous Adriatic coast past old fishing villages and new resorts. Arrive in Split, Croatia. Here, we’ll enjoy a Split city tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace - a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Finally, we’ll see the remnants of Split's Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter's Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. (B, D)

Day 4,Split to Trogir and Plitvice Lakes

We begin the day heading to Trogir, the center of artistic activities and gathering place for scholars from all over the globe to study and paint. We then turn inland and travel to spectacular Plitvice Lakes National Park. You’ll take a picturesque walking tour around several of the lower lakes – keep those cameras nearby! Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and vibrant green vegetation. (B, D)

Day 5,Opatija, Postojna and Bled, Slovenia

We travel back along the coast to the beautiful bay of Kvarner to the popular resort town of Opatija. After some free time, we head north to Postojna - home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Here you board a miniature electric train and take an amazing journey through this incredible subterranean world. Afterward the tour, we continue to Bled – a great resort town set in the picturesque Julian Alps. (B, D)

Day 6,Bled

A Bled sightseeing tour shows you the highlights of this charming town on the shores of Lake Bled. You’ll also visit medieval Bled Castle which is situated on a cliff overlooking Lake Bled. The rest of the day you can spend discovering the town whether you’re taking a stroll by the lake, shopping, indulging in a famous Bled cream cake, or taking an excursion to the small island in the middle of the lake (B)

Day 7,Bled to Ljubljana, Slovenia to Zagreb, Croatia

Travel to Ljubljana - the capital of neighboring Slovenia, and take a walking tour. See the sights of the old city center, including:
  • The picturesque open-air Central Market
  • Triple Bridge – Group of bridges that cross the Ljubljana River and connect the historical, medieval town on one side of the river to the modern capital city.
  • Ljubljana Town Hall – Original building constructed in 1484, the building underwent a Baroque renovation in the 18th century.
  • Robba Fountain – Created in 1751 and one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Then, on to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. (B, D)

Day 8,Zagreb

This morning, enjoy a city tour featuring:
  • Upper Town – Network of streets filled with restaurants and bars
  • St. Mark’s Church – 13th century church famous for its tiled roof and coat of arms.
  • St. Catherine’s Church – Famous depiction of the life of St. Catherine on the ceiling.
  • The Cathedral – Tallest building in Croatia
  • Parliament Building
  • Government Palace
The rest of the day is yours to do as you wish - explore the winding streets of Old Town, relax in a café, or take an optional excursion to see the countryside. (B)

Day 9,Zagreb

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
