Day 1 – Welcome

Upon arrival in Qatar, you will be met by a Sky Vacations ambassador who will assist you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in at your hotel, you guide will meet you to take you on a journey of discovery starting with the unique heritage of Downtown Doha. Wander through the vibrant labyrinth of alleyways of Souq Waqif, view modern day Doha’s towering iconic architecture and witness the ongoing and world class city transformation of Msheireb. You will visit the Dhow Harbour where you can see the traditional sailing vessels used extensively around the Arabian Peninsula, a luxurious island development known as the Pearl centered on a stunning marina and Katara Cultural Village, a cultural beacon and the largest multidimensional cultural project that hosts local, regional and international festivals, workshops and exhibitions. Later this evening, enjoy dinner at Parisa Souq Waqif restaurant where you will be dazzled by authentic Persian delights and mesmerizing interiors that combine hand-painted Persian artwork of myths and legends, intricate mosaics, ornate chandeliers and thousands of tiny mirrors that were handpicked from Iran and assembled in Doha. 

Day 2 – Discover the Dunes and the Inland Sea 

An exciting day ahead of us! Depart on an exciting desert safari where you will experience the remarkable landscape where sand dunes spill into the azure waters of Arabian Peninsula. Our qualified desert drivers will take you on an adventure, travelling through the dramatic sand dunes to Khor Al Adaid, or the Inland Sea as it is commonly known. The area presents a remarkable landscape formed by a globally unique combination of geological and geomorphological features. These features themselves create a diverse scenery of exceptional, undeveloped natural beauty, in what remains predominantly a ‘wilderness area’. The Arabian Gulf, large mobile dunes, a tidal embayment system and recently discovered “salt hummocks” contribute to the unique character of Qatar’s southern territory. After the excitement of the desert driving experience relax and enjoy time by the beach and a traditional Arabian barbecue evening dinner buffet at our desert camp.

Day 3 – Museum Visit and Dhow Cruise

Today its time to visit Qatar National Museum to experience the exhibits in three dimensions that reflects the contemporary spirit of Qatar. You will have the chance to see one of the master piece buildings in the world which is inspired from the natural occurring crystal formations known as the desert rose. This evening you will board a traditional dhow to be transported the historic heart of downtown Doha. You will cruise around the city’s iconic Corniche waterfront heading north to the modern and luxurious island development of the Pearl. You will pass the city’s signature landmarks and view Doha’s illuminated skyline from the water. The gentle cruising speed allows for ample opportunity to capture photographs of the city, its landmarks and skyline.

Day 4 – Organic Farming in the Desert and discover Zekreet Peninsula 

After breakfast at your hotel, an exciting day awaits us as we head to a Heenat Salma, an initiative dedicated to holistic methods in agriculture, architecture, and community development. Experience first-hand how organic farming done in a harsh desert environment with an informative farm tour.  On conclusion of the tour enjoy a healthy lunch, prepared by the on-site chefs using fresh, seasonal, and home-grown produce picked fresh from the kitchengarden. Every dish reflects the season’s current harvest. After lunch we embark on a guided adventure to the Ras Abrouq Peninsula where the striking topography of unusual rock formations, plateaus, and coastline dominate the landscape. Within this landscape, we discover the massive monolithic environmental artwork ‘East-West/West-East’ created by internationally renowned artist Richard Serra. Here, you will experience a magnificent sunset while enjoying a variety of snacks and refreshments.

Day 5 – Visit Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

Today our day starts with a visit to Mathaf, a unique Arab perspective on contemporary art. You will get the chance to see more than 9,000 works by notable artists from Arab world. The Permanent collection, regular programme of temporary exhibitions and associated activities make Mathaf a stimulating experience for all ages.

We continue to visit the hidden gems of the Souq Waqif through a unique cultural experience and local food journey. Taste your way through the back alleys of Souq Waqif and learn more about regional traditions while experiencing true Arabian hospitality. Your local Qatari guide will share a wealth of information from local dress and customs to trade, traditions and more. We visit different parts of the souq where a range of items such as perfumes, fabric and even falcons are traded. This immersive cultural experience will leave you with an in depth understanding of life and culture in Qatar.  

Day 6 – Farewell

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
