Day 1 Tuesday: Cairo

Arrive at Cairo Airport where your Sky Vacations ambassador will meet and assist you through the customs area and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of today is yours to unwind and enjoy the hotel.  

Day 2 Wednesday: Saqqara

Start your day by visiting Saqqara, the necropolis of Memphis, home of the step pyramid, the first limestone structure ever built. Explore its 4350 years old colored tombs. Get the chance to go inside a pyramid and see the ancient Hieroglyphics that have been engraved on its walls for thousands of years. Your tour will include an off-beaten-track visit to the Serapium, the mysterious burial ground for the great bull god Apis where you will see 25 tons granite coffins which is the only one of its kind that discovered in ancient Egypt. Day 3 Thursday: Cairo Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids 

Cairo Museum: Meet your Egyptologist guide & visit the centrally located museum on the edge of Tahrir Square in Cairo, opening in 1902, it was purpose-built to house the antiquities of Ancient Egypt. Inside is the greatest collection of Ancient Egyptian archeological history in the world. The New Museum expected to open early November once it is open, we will make the tour to the new Museum.

After lunch in a local authentic restaurant, visit the Giza Pyramids, the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the World. Ride a camel out in the desert to have an amazing view for the pyramids from a distance. Then, stand in front of the imposing Sphinx, the combination of human intelligence and the strength of a lion. Day 4 Friday: Abu Simbel/ Aswan/Cruise.

Take an early flight to Abu Simbel Via Aswan and begin on the southern border of Egypt. This site is the home of two massive rock temples dedicated to Pharaoh Ramses the second and his wife Nefertari. See the gigantic statues of the pharaoh standing for over 3200 years, flanking the entrance to one of the most impressive temples in Egypt. Fly back to Aswan. Arrive in Aswan & transfer to your 5* MS Steigenberger Nile Cruise. 

Philae Temple: Visit the island of Philae and the temple that is dedicated the goddess ISIS the goddess of love and passion in ancient Egypt. The Temple of Philae is in a beautiful setting, landscaped to match the original site of the temple when it was relocated by UNESCO after the building of the Aswan Dam threatened the site. (B, L, D)

Day 5 Saturday: Cruise/ Kom Ombo/ Edfu

A buffet breakfast will be served on board while sailing to Kom Ombo

Kom Ombo Temple: Walk to visit the temple of Kom Ombo temple, dedicated to the crocodile and falcon gods. Stop at the Crocodile Mummification Museum, where you can see crocodile mummies that are thousands of years old.

Enjoy lunch, while cruising to Edfu.

Edfu Temple: By horse carriage visit the temple of Horus at Edfu, the most intact temple from the ancient world.

Afternoon snacks while sailing to Luxor Via Esna (B, L, D).

Day 6 Sunday: Cruise/Luxor.

After breakfast, start the day by visiting the Valley of the Kings, hidden behind the mountains on the west bank of the Nile. Enter the tomb of King Tutankhamen and stand face to face in front of his Mummy. Then have an off-beaten-track Visit the temple of Hatshepsut, the only female Pharaoh who dressed and ruled Egypt like a king. Have a photo stop by the huge colossi of Memnon. Lunch on board

Visit the temple of Karnak, the largest religious complex that was ever built for a god in the history of mankind. The temple is dedicated to the god Amon Ra, the chief creator god in Ancient Egypt. Then visit the Luxor temple that was predominantly built by Pharaoh Ramses II. Check in at your cruise & overnight. Day 7 Monday: Cairo

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served on board & disembark. Transfer: transfer to Luxor airport to board your flight back to Cairo. Arrival: Arrive Cairo and Transfer to your Hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure. (B)

Day 8 Tuesday: Cairo

After Breakfast, visit the community center to know and understand different cultural aspect of the Egyptian life. Wrap up your day by walking through the old streets of Islamic Cairo; Walk in El Muizz Street which is like an open-air museum filled with medieval architectural marvels and treasures. Then explore the winding alleyways of the famous Khan El Khalili market, the major souk in the Islamic Cairo district (B, L).

Day 9 Sunday: Cairo/ Final departure.

After breakfast, walk to your terminal to fly home with your head and heart filled with memories of the sights, sounds and voices of Egypt to carry with you (B).
