DAY 1 – WELCOME

Welcome to Naples! Upon arrival you’ll be met by our Sky Vacations ambassador who will meet you and will take you to your hotel in Naples, located near the sea. The balance of the day is yours to unwind as you prepare for 8 days of touring!

DAY 2 –NAPLES: DAY & NIGHT

The journey begins! Your guide will meet you at your hotel and share an old story about the birth of Naples. The historical centr is gritty, it’s noisy, but that’s where the appeal lies. The hustle and bustle of centuries of life is here, above and below ground.  Begin by walking to the famous historical center, the heart of the True Naples”. Your guide will bring Naples alive with stories of the past and insight to local traditions.  After your walk, it’s time for a break with a NeapolitanCoffee and sfogliatella “, in one of the oldest bakeries of Naples – and it’s only your first stop for food. You are in Naples and the first thing to do is: to eat! After more strolling and getting to know the city, it’s lunch time and you will enjoy a big “Cuoppo”, fried fish and vegetables which is part of Naple’s famous street food scene. 

After a quick bite, you will visit a Cathedral built on a Early Christian Basilica and one of the most fantastic and rich treasures of the world: The Treasure of St Gennaro.  Your day continues after which you will return to your hotel. This evening, you will be guests at a private home where you will learn now to cook the famous dishes of a Neopolitan kitchen. Delicious and fun!

DAY 3 – CAMPI FLEGREI AND POZZUOLI

This morning you’ll continue the journey as you visit the place where it all began. The story says that the first inhabitants of Naples, arrived on the coast of Baia and stayed for the beauty of the place. For the ancients, to have a villa on the coast of Baia meant to be part of the richest and most important  families of the time. Baia become also the main port of Romans and it was the place where the historian Pliny the Elder departed on his boat to see the eruption that would claim Pompeii.  During our visit we can walk through the “Thermal Resort”, see the Amphitheatre, and visit the small fishing village of Pozzuoli

DAY 4 – NAPLES: UP & DOWN

Today you begin with a visit the Monument Area, The Royal palace, the Castle, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. Pass through 2000 years of history, where each step, each stone has something to say.  Here, in the upper “up” part of the city are beautiful monuments, squares and architecture, the world of noble and elegant life. Lunch today will be in a local trattoria, for a true Neopolitan lunch.

And after lunch, it’s time to explore the “down” side of the city. The underground environments represent a description of the last 500 years of Naples history.  A geologist, who discovered a world under the world while working in an old house will meet you and share how he is bringing to life this other side of life in the city.  

This evening a show dinner in a very typical Neapolitan restaurant with singing and dancing in the old tradition .

DAY 5 – PROCIDA – CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2022

In the Gulf of Naples the world knows luxurious Capri and the beautiful Ischia, but not everyone knows that there is also a smaller island to discover. Today you’re on your own as you ferry to Procida to explore this gem at your own pace.  Walk through the narrow streets, discover ancient palaces, breathtaking views, vineyards, lemon groves and sandy beaches. Procida is an ideal place for those who want to kick back and unwind. and quiet life.

DAY 6 – AMALFI: PATH OF THE GODS

Please wear comfortable shoes today as you’ll  visit the Amalfi coast from a different perspective, away from the chaos and traffic. During your walk, enjoy breathtaking views and marvel at the fantastic sheer vertical drops and the beautiful cultivated terraces. We’ve also arranged for a stop at a local shepherd’s house where you can have taste of fresh, local products. 

After a day outside, it’s time for an evening of culinary excitement — dinner in Sorrento at a private home hosted by an expert on traditional cooking. Learn how to prepare the dishes of Sorrento in while enjoying great wine and making memories for a lifetime. 

DAY 7 – POMPEII, VESUVIUS AND WINE

Today your tour takes you to ancient Pompei or Herculaneum. Learn first hand how the eruption destroyed the cities while at the same time preserving them for centuries.

A visit to Mount Vesuvius is next where your mountain guide will take you to the top explaining the history of the region. You’ll also enjoy a glass of wine before heading back. For lunch we will stop in a vineyard on the the slopes of Vesuvius, to enjoy Lacryma Christi, the special wine harvested from the volcano’s soil together with homemade spaghetti and local ham – where your table sits in the middle of the vineyard. After a full day, your evening in Napes is at your leisure. 

DAY 8 – IRPINA 

It’s the time to leave Naples and drive to Irpinia .

A land of castles and mountains, this is a place of the most beautiful villages famous for skiing, cheese and wines. A land of luxuriant and restorative waters, intense greens, pure nature, peace, well-being and charm.

Your first stop is at the first Medieval village of Gesualdo. Some know it as The City of The Prince of Musicians, because of its association with Carlo Gesualdo. In Gesualdo you will enjoy local food and wine and you can make the visit wearing original 7th-century clothes, as if you are part of the court of the Prince!  After Gesualdo, a visit to a local cellar, one of the most important and riveting: Feudi di San Gregorio.

Entering the cellar you will be welcomed by the music of the Prince Carlo. Here, each bottle of wine is a masterpiece. The love and passion infused in the cultivation of the vines, the effort in the picking of the grapes and the patient waiting for the wine to age, endow every one of the bottles with a personality of its own, transforming it into an authentic artwork.

The same sentiments and emotions that guide artists in their creative process in making a sculpture, a photograph, a painting or an installation have gone into the cellar’s exquisite wines. Enjoy your first wine and food tasting of the day. Afterwards, head to your hotel to relax. In the eveningy visit a restaurant located in an old mill on a river for another glorious dinner.

DAY 9 – CALITRI 

After breakfast, head out to explore villages and castles.

Today it’s off to Calitri, a little village on the top of a hill at the edge of three regions, Campania, Basilicata and Puglia. Calitri is called the “Positano” of Irpinia, because the first thing you notice when you approach the village, is the view of colored houses as in Positano. After visiting,  it’s on to Cairano. You can notice it from the moment you see the village laying calm on the top of the mountain that this is a very special place. No cars, so we walk slowly to reach the top among the old houses made of local stone. And on ttop there is the surprise: the sound of nature arrives to the ears through the wind organs. It’s only sky, the valley and the music all around you.

When you open your eyes the lunch is ready!!! A chef is there just for you! Just on the top of the mountain cooking an amazing meal in an unforgettable setting.  After lunch,  your guide will take you to The Goleto, an old monastery founded by San Guglielmo da Vercelli in 1133. Built as a female monastery, it was soon joined by a small convent of monks, whose task was to oversee the economy of the abbey.  For about two centuries, the Monastery remained in a pitiful state, covered with thick vegetation. In 1973 the Goleto was restored and after 10 years’ work it was reopened. Goleto is not only a Monastery. It is a mysterious place full of symbols and legends – the place of the Templars, en route to reach the coast on to the the Holy Land.

After a full day of eating and touring, it’s back to the hotel to unwind.

DAY 10: Departure 

It’s time to say goodbye – transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
