 Day 1: Welcome to São Paulo

 Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your Sky Vacations ambassador who will assist  you with your transfer to your Hotel Downtown. Enjoy some time to unwind after which you continue on an evening tour to visit São Paulo. With your guide, explore what sparks your interest about the city including time for dinner at a barbecue restaurant. Afterwards, drive back to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2: City tour of São Paulo

After your buffet breakfast at the hotel, start your city tour with a walk in the downtown area. Depending on the day, visit the Sé Cathedral, considered the 4th largest neo-gothic style cathedral in the world. Walk by other historical spots like the city’s birthplace “Pateo do Collegio” and the “São Bento Monastery”. Stop at the Municipal Market, a neoclassical style building, and walk around the different stalls filled with different fruits and food. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue your tour towards the Liberdade district, the world’s largest Japanese community, and Vila Madalena, the bohemian neighborhood filled with artists, graffitis, handicrafts, bookstores, art galleries, and many bars and restaurants. Afterwards, walk around Trianon Park, an urban rainforest off Paulista Avenue, one of the city’s most important avenues in the financial district. Right in front, you can see the São Paulo Art Museum, an architecture example of classic modernism. Pass by the Jardins district, a luxurious neighborhood with many stores, restaurants, and bars. Then, enjoy a fantastic view of the city on the Contemporary Art Museum’s rooftop. End your tour at the entrance of Ibirapuera Park, designed by Oscar Niemeyer and landscapist Roberto Burle Marx. See the Flag Monument, a large granite sculpture by Victor Brecheret that honors the explorers who came to Brazil during the XVII and XVIII centuries.

Day 3: Curitiba 

After a buffet breakfast at your hotel, its time to check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Curitiba. Upon arrival you will be met by our Sky Vacations ambassador and transferred to your hotel. This modern city has many green spaces, pedestrian areas, and a hyper-functional bus system. A city like no other, Curitiba has revolutionized sustainable urban planning. This evening, drive around Curitiba in a panoramic tour that will show you the city’s landmarks that light up brightly at night: see the Wire Opera House, the Botanical Garden, the historic center and Curitiba Cathedral, the Oscar Niemeyer Museum. Go to the traditional Italian neighborhood, Santa Felicidade, and stop at Adega Durigan for a wine, cheese, and salami tasting. Then, at Madalosso or Velho Madalosso, indulge in an all you can eat dinner that includes Italian specialities.

 Day 4: Curitiba City Tour

Get to know Curitiba during a city tour downtown and around its parks. Walk around the pedestrian streets in the old town and appreciate the vibrant colonial buildings. See the main square “Tiradentes” Square with the neo-gothic style Cathedral, Garibaldi Square, and the eclectic building at “Paço da Liberdade”. Stroll along “Rua das Flores”, a historical pedestrian street filled with shops, restaurants, paintings, and street performers. Afterwards, appreciate the modern architecture at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum, designed by the architect himself in 1967. Nearby, at Pope’s Woods, appreciate the wooden houses in one of the city’s most important parks. End your tour at the Botanical Garden, built in 1991 with a French style that boasts elegance with many fountains, waterfalls, and lakes.

Belo Horizonte, known as “Beagá” by the locals, is the first planned city built in Brazil. The bustling metropolis is surrounded by mountains, boasts architecture by Oscar Niemeyer, and offers good food like typical cachaça, cheese “queijo minas”, coffee, and “torresmo”. It is also the gateway to nearby historical and UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Ouro Preto and Mariana. Walk around their picturesque small towns and cobblestone streets, learn about the region’s history, and appreciate their colonial beauty.

Start your city tour at Pampulha Lake. Appreciate the buildings around the lake designed by world-renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, the Burle Marx gardens, and the Portinari paintings. The project became a reference point for Brazil’s modern art and architecture and a symbol of modernism in the world. Pass in front of the São Francisco de Assis Church and continue your tour towards the Art Museum. Afterwards, visit the Arts and Labor museum located inside a historic train station with active train and metro platforms. Inside, see over 2,500 pieces from the mineiros’ daily lives during the pre-industrial period.

Day 06

Belo Horizonte

  • Full day tour to Inhotim Museum with Lunch (7h)

 

Drive approximately 60km (37mi.) south of Belo Horizonte to Inhotim, an open-air museum amid botanical gardens and mountains. The complex boasts many pavilions surrounded by one of the world’s largest botanical collections that include rare tropical species. Here, art and nature combine works from contemporary international and Brazilian artists. Appreciate the interactive exhibitions that include audio-visual and sensorial experiences.

**Remark: The tour includes lunch at local restaurant and entrance fee.

Brasilia is a bustling capital also known as the “Capital of Hope”. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, the city was planned and developed by three famous Brazilian architects: Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer, and Joaquim Cardozo. In result, it is characterized by modern and innovative architecture and inspiring avant-garde design. The lively city has something for everyone: from architecture junkies, foodies, to night owls.

Drive around Brasilia at night and appreciate the impressive, unique, and illuminated architecture. See some of Oscar Niemeyer’s iconic buildings like the JK Memorial, the National Cathedral, the Itamaraty Palace, as well as other spaces like the Ministries Esplanade, the Three Powers Square, the Palace of Dawn, and the JK Brigde. End your experience with dinner in a barbecue restaurant before returning to your hotel.

Day 08

Brasilia

  • Brasilia City Tour with Lunch (6h)

 

You will be picked up from your hotel and explore Brasilia’s most interesting and unique architecture. Start at the Dom Bosco Sanctuary: inside, the blue floor-to-ceiling windows and the Murano chandelier are magnificent. Then, go up the TV and Radio Tower and appreciate the panoramic views from the observatories. The tower made digital television signal available to everyone in the city. Continue your tour to the JK Memorial, a monument and museum that honor Juscelino Kubitschek, a president who encouraged industrialization and who founded the capital. Another one of Oscar Niemeyer’s architectural designs is the Cathedral of Brasilia. The Roman Catholic Church looks like a crown of thorns and has a beautiful stained glass ceiling. End your tour at the Lúcio Costa Cultural Space to learn about the urban planner who helped design the capital and appreciate the gigantic architectural model of Brasilia. After your tour and lunch, return to the hotel.

Rio de Janeiro is also called the “Marvelous City”. Located by the Atlantic Ocean, golden beaches adorn its shores backed with lush mountains. Enjoy life like the “cariocas” whose charisma is contagious.  Dance to the rhythms of samba and old-school “bossa nova”, sip on a caipirinha, and appreciate the incredibly diverse architecture. Visit iconic landmarks like Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Mountain, sail around Guanabara Bay, or learn about history and art at one of city’s many museums.

Accompanied by your guide, leave your hotel and drive to a barbecue restaurant for dinner. After your meal, you will be driven back to your hotel.

Day 10

Rio De Janeiro

Leave your hotel and drive to Rio’s downtown area. Appreciate the city’s landmarks and some of its finest architecture, like the Candelaria church and the Carioca aqueduct. Then, from the Urca district, take two glass cable cars and observe the lush vegetation surrounding the iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain. From the top, see the spectacular views of Rio de Janeiro. After lunch, head to the Come Velho district and take the train through the Tijuca forest up the Corcovado Mountain. Feel at one with nature as you enjoy the verdant rainforest and views. At the top of one of Rio de Janeiro’s most privileged belvederes, admire the well-known Christ the Redeemer statue and the stunning views of the “Marvelous City”.

Rio De Janeiro

Enjoy a 8-hour day with your guide and explore the landmarks in Niterói that spark your interest.

You will see Rio from another perspective, crossing the 14 km length Presidente Arthur Costa e Silva Bridge, which links both Rio de Janeiro and Niterói. You can visit MAC (the Contemporary Art Museum) and others spots designed by Oscar Niemeyer.

Day 1: Arrive in Athens

Welcome to Athens! After clearing customs, you’ll meet your Sky Vacations ambassador who will transfer you to your hotel. The balance of the day is yours to explore this amazing city.

Day 2: Athens 

Your private guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a personal tour of the city. Highlights of your program will include a visit to the Acropolis, the new Acropolis Museum housing floors of artworks and a stroll through the heart of the ancient city, the Agora.  After the tour, you may wish to explore the alleys of the wonderful flea market or enjoy a rooftop cocktail overlooking the city.

Day 3: Athens 

Today your private guide will take you on a tour of the National Archaeological Museum which houses endless masterpieces of Greek history. After your museum visit, tour the charming streets of Plaka, at the foot of the Acropolis. Plaka is rich with shops, cafes, art galleries and the ideal place to spend time exploring. Tonight, a very special treat as you visit Cape Sounion as you watch the sunset behind the Temple of Apollo.

Day 4: Athens – Crete

Your driver will meet you at your hotel this morning and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Crete, the largest island in Greece. When you land, your Sky Vacations ambassador will assist you and transfer you to your hotel where the balance of the day is at leisure.

Day 5: Crete 

A big today as you embark on a full day tour of Crete. You’ll explore villages and cities, taking in the very diverse culture the island has to offer with your guide leading the way.

Day 6: Crete 

This morning you’re off to one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, the ancient Palace of Knossos, home of the Minoan civilization and considered Europe’s oldest city.

Day 7: Crete – Santorini

A morning transfer takes you to the port in Crete for your ferry to Santorini. As you arrive in Santorini, you will be met by your Sky Vacations ambassador and transferred to your hotel.  Today is perfect to explore what many people consider to be the most beautiful island in the world. Don’t forget, gathering at sunset are a must!

Day 8: Santorini 

After breakfast, your guide will take you an a full day tour of the island which will include the main town of Fira, stunning Oia and the ancient town of Akrotiri, which is still being excavated. You’ll have plenty of time after the tour to unwind and enjoy your hotel.

Day 9: Santorini

A full morning and afternoon on your own before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Athens, where you will overnight near the airport.

Day 10: Farewell Greece

It’s time to say goodbye to Greece – or maybe just “until next time.”
