VENICE, FLORENCE, SORRENTO & ROME 

Day 1: Arrive in Venice

Ciao Italia! Welcome to Venice. Upon arrival you will be met by a Sky Vacations ambassador and transferred to your hotel in Venice for a two night stay.

This afternoon step on to a famous gondola, the best way to explore this magical city. As you float along the canals, you’ll pass elegant palazzos, elegant bridges and magnificent architecture as you glide to the Grand Canal!

Day 2: Venice

This morning take part in a small group walking tour of Venice – including the Doge’s Palace.  From the Rialto Bridge, to St. Mark’s Basilica and of course the Doge’s Palace, our tour brings you the most famous sites of Venice. But we also want you to see the “real” Venice, so you’ll also experience some of the quieter neighborhoods and winding streets that make up the daily life of this floating city.

Day 3: Venice – Florence

You’re off to Florence this morning. You’ll transfer by boat to the Venice train station for your first class ride to Florence. When you arrive in Florence, you ‘ll be met by a Sky Vacations ambassador and transferred to your hotel.

This afternoon join our small group walking tour that includes a visit to the impressive Duomo, the Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery. Of course no visit to Florence would be complete without seeing Michelangelo’s David where you will have VIP Skip the Line Access.

Day 4:  Florence

A wonderful day at leisure to explore Florence.

Day 5: Florence – Cinque Terre

A very day awaits you as you join our small group tour for a full day visit to Cinque Terre and Porto Venere!

Cruise across the Gulf of Poets to Porto Venere, one of the most stunning places on the coast of Italy. Picturesque fisherman’s boats docked by the beach, colorful homes and the old castle make Porto Venere one of the most beautiful villages in the country.

Boarding the boat again, sail up the Ligurian Coast as we arrive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cinque Terre National Park.  Arrive to Monterosso, the largest of town of the Cinque Terre where you’ll enjoy a local dish of pesto as you please, selecting the dish that most appeals to you!  Plenty of time to shop, stroll, sit at a café or swim (don’t forget to pack your bathing suit!).

To continue the day, you may wish to join an optional 45 minute hike through the stunning mainland and coastline to see the scenery from a unique perspective as your hike leader takes you past vineyards and ancient olive groves.  If you prefer not to hike, you’ll have extra time in charming Monterosso.

All aboard the train as we head to Manarola, the oldest town where you will feel as if you stepped into a Renaissance painting.  A wonderful meal will be served before a quick train ride and your private air-conditioned motor coach back to Florence.

Day 6: Florence – Pompeii – Sorrento

Begin the day with a transfer to the Florence train station and board your first class car for your ride to Naples. When you arrive in Naples, a Sky Vacations Ambassador will meet you for your private tour of Pompeii.

More than any other archeological site in the world, Pompeii is “alive” with history as you come face to face with those who lived here during the eruption of 79AD. Stroll the streets, walk into shops, homes and squares, left exactly as they were nearly 2000 years ago.  Remember to wear comfortable shoes!

After touring Pompeii, it’s off to your hotel in Sorrento.

Day 7: Sorrento – Capri – Anacapri

An exciting day awaits you as you join our small group for a full day tour to Capri and Anacapri. Depart Sorrento via fast jet ferry to Capri. Few islands in the world enjoy such a reputation for beauty and elegance as does Capri.  So breathtaking that Roman Emperor Tiberius left cosmopolitan Rome and made Capri his home, never to return to the city.

Once on the island, your guide will meet you for an exciting tour of Anacapri, located in the hills of the island.  After your guided tour there will be plenty of time to relax or take the chairlift to Villa San Michele. Your next stop will be the charming center of Capri where you’ll have time on your own to shop, stroll, dine or if the seas permit, take an optional excursion to the Blue Grotto.

Day 8:  Sorrento

Unwind, shop or enjoy more optional sightseeing during this free day in Sorrento.

Day 9: Sorrento – Rome

Depart by private transfer from your hotel in Sorrento to the Naples rail station. Board the train for your first class ride to the Eternal City of Rome.  Upon arrival your Sky Vacations Ambassador will meet you for your transfer to the hotel for a 3 night stay.

This afternoon, join our small group for a walking tour of Rome.  From the Spanish Steps, to the Trevi Fountain, you’ll be in the very heart of Rome experiencing some of the sites that make this one of the world’s most beloved cities.

Day 10:  Rome

You’re off to Ancient Rome as our small group departs to explore the city of the Caesars all with an expert guide.  You’ll come face to face with the Roman Forum, tour the Palatine Hill and have VIP Skip the Line entrance to the Colosseum!

Day 11: Rome

A morning small group tour brings you to the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Visited by over 5 million people a year, the Vatican Museums are a must see for any visitor to Rome. You’ll then enter to Michelangelo’s masterpiece, The Sistine Chapel.  With special access, you’ll skip the line entering St. Peter’s Basilica where you will have free time to experience the amazing artwork of this architectural masterpiece.

Day 12:  Ciao Roma!

We hope you’ve tossed a coin in the Trevi Fountain wish is said to be lucky for a return visit to Rome.  Today, transfer to the Rome airport for your onward journey.
