Few experiences can compare with the world famous Oberammergau Passion Play. Since 1633 the Oberammergau Passion Play originated in the midst of the Thirty Years War when the towns people swore an oath that they would perform the play focused on the death and resurrection of Jesus every ten years. The play runs between May 14 – October 2, 2022 – please inquire about show dates and time.
In 2022, the community of Oberammergau will perform the Passion Play they have preserved throughout the centuries with singular continuity for the 42nd time and is regarded as the most important passion play in the world. The village at the edge of the Bavarian Alps expects approximately 500,000 visitors for the passion play, over half of which will be international guests.
Did you know? Everbody involved in the world‘s largest amateur dramatic performance must have been born in Oberammergau or must have been living there for at least 20 years. Sky Vacations is honored to offer two Passion Play packages that are perfect to combine with pre or post trips within Germany or elsewhere in Europe.
Our 1 and 2 night programs feature hotel accommodation at 4 or 5 star hotels in the villages surrounding Oberammergau, tickets to the play, dinner during the play intermission, (a second dinner at the hotel for our two night program), shuttle transfer, an illustrated souvenir book and an exclusive guided tour in the theater.
